George Orwell would be well pleased with the latest adaptation of Animal Farm currently running in Hobart. Somethings never change and the message has lost none of its impact over the last sixty five years.Part dance/part tragedy the performance was quite unforgettable. The performance of Gene Sha Rudyn as Snowball and Benjamin as the intellectual and prophet of the play was very convincing on his way to the fate that seems to meet all who tell the truth. Yeo Yann Yann's portrayal of Clover was full of human emotions. She captured the very essence of a horse, the poring of the ground, the tilt of the head and general being. Her performance was so intense that she worked herself into a state of near exhaustion by the end of the play. She is indeed a very talented actor with a great future. Finally one must give a mention of Lim Yu-Beng presence as Napoleon his clenched fist in the shape of a pig's cloven foot was a master stroke. If you ever have a chance to see this production don't miss it.

Yes, they are good. Have you heard that the Singapore govt is cutting back their funds, possibly because of their more political/risque productions?
